How Apparel Funds the Second Assignment

Every version of this company that started as a nonprofit ran into the same wall: donations are a fundraising job, and fundraising is a full-time job that produces nothing on its own. Selling something people actually want produces a product, a customer and a margin, and the margin is what funds the thing we care about.

So the order of operations is deliberate. Make good apparel. Sell it honestly. Put a defined share of what's left into getting people into trade programs. If the apparel isn't good, none of the rest happens, which keeps us honest about the shirts.

As the fund makes awards, this is where the specifics get published — who was funded, for which program, and what it cost. Numbers go up when there are real numbers to put up.
