Why a clothing company and not a nonprofit

Author TBC · Date TBC · 4 min read

Every version of this company that started as a nonprofit ran into the same wall: donations are a fundraising job, and fundraising is a full-time job that produces nothing on its own. Selling something people actually want produces a product, a customer and a margin, and the margin is what funds the thing we care about.

So the order of operations is deliberate. Make good apparel. Sell it honestly. Put a defined share of what's left into getting people into trade programs. If the apparel isn't good, none of the rest happens, which keeps us honest about the shirts.

This section of the site is where we'll publish the specifics as they get finalised — the scholarship structure, the partners, and what happened to the money. Until those are confirmed, you'll see placeholders instead of numbers.
