Service was the first assignment. Building what comes next is the second.
The end of a service contract is not a finish line. It’s a Tuesday, and on Wednesday nobody is telling you where to be.
That gap is where this company started. The skills that carried you through the first assignment — showing up, learning a system fast, staying steady when something fails at a bad hour — are exactly what a job site needs. What’s usually missing is the bridge: the tuition, the tools, the first set of boots, and someone who can tell you which programs are worth the time.
Second Assignment Clothing Co. is an apparel company that funds that bridge. We design and print American workwear and off-duty gear, sell it honestly, and route a share of the proceeds into the Second Assignment Trade Scholarship. The clothes are the engine. The scholarship is the point.
We’re deliberately not doing the parts that make this kind of company insufferable. No invented statistics. No borrowed imagery. No claiming a certification we haven’t earned. When the scholarship structure is final, the numbers go on this site with the details attached.

How we operate
Make something worth buying
The apparel has to stand on its own. If the only reason to buy a shirt is the cause behind it, the shirt isn't good enough and the cause gets funded once.
Point people at real trades
Electrical, HVAC, welding, plumbing, carpentry, industrial maintenance. Fields with apprenticeships, licensure and a wage curve that goes somewhere.
Publish specifics, not slogans
Where a number belongs, we'd rather show a placeholder than a figure we can't back. Everything on this site marked PLACEHOLDER is waiting on documentation.
